A slightly riper and more complex nose offers up notes of plum, blue pinot spice, violet, anise and a deft touch of wood. There is excellent richness to the attractively textured and lightly mineral-infused medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a linear, saline and focused finish where enough wood to notice appears. Vinous:

Deep, bright red with ruby tones. Darker, riper aromas of kirsch, blueberry and minerals. Densely packed and rather powerful, showing a penetrating quality to the dark fruit and crushed rock flavors. Plenty of oak here but a strong floral quality gives this dense, subtly sweet wine lovely perfumed lift. The best of these 2013s by a clear margin. Drink Date 2024-2037.
