Robert Parker Wine Advocate:

The 2012 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru has a very complex, quite beguiling bouquet with raspberry preserve, sous-bois, rose petals and orange zest all emerging from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with razor-sharp tannins and superb delineation. This actually reminds me of one of Denis Bachelet’s Charmes-Chambertin and the finish has an awesome amount of tension that leaves the mouth tingling long afterward. Drink Date 2018-2035. Rating 97/100. -Neal Martin-

Vinous:

Palish medium red. Slightly high-toned aromas of redcurrant, rose petal and licorice. More red than black fruits on the palate, showing lovely energy and sweetness and considerable finesse. Finishes long and subtle, with suave tannins and terrific energy. These tannins are much finer than those of the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Didiers that preceded this wine in my tasting. I still prefer the Gevrey Combottes for its sheer grip and greater density but this Charmes has turned out silky and delicate. Drink Date 2022-2035. Rating 93/100. -Stephen Tanzer-
