Robert Parker Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Eclipse is 87% Grenache, 8% Graciano and 5% Shiraz, all off the McLaren Vale estate vineyard. As it almost seems to, it boasts gorgeous aromas of raspberries, accented by a range of herbs and spices that include notes of orange zest, bay leaf and rose petals. It's full-bodied, with assertive but silky tannins that should help preserve the wine's freshness as it ages. Although full-bodied, it handles its alcohol well, showing just a trace of warmth on the lingering finish. Drink Date 2018-2030. Rating 96/100. -Joe Czerwinski-

Jancis Robinson:

Grenache, Shiraz, Graciano.
Rich but not just fruity – this has dark savoury notes too. Full and heavy but the flavours have lovely nuances of cherry, leather and dried meat. Drink Date 2019-2029. Rating 17/20. -Richard Hemming MW-

Vinous:

Saturated ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, lavender, star anise and cola. Juicy and sharply focused in the mouth, offering sappy raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors that deepen steadily through the back half. Fine-grained tannins lend shape to a very long, subtly chewy finish that emphatically repeats the red fruit and floral notes. Raised in large, used French and America oak barrels. Drink Date 2023-2032. Rating 94/100. -Josh Raynolds-
