Ich degustierte ihn das erste Mal beim Moueix und ein zweites Mal auf der Pomerol Séduction auf Clos du Clocher. Es war der letzte Wein dort, bevor wir ins Auto stiegen, um auf Clos Fourtet weiter zu verkosten. Auf der ganzen viertelstündigen Fahrt hatte ich einen wohligen Cassis-Geschmack im Mund. Als ich mich an die erste Probe für die nächsten Weine parat machte, sah ich noch einen Tropfen im meinem Gabriel-Glas und roch daran. Es war die leicht angetrocknete Essenz vom Gazin 2014. Auch hier wieder duftete es nach Cassis, Cassis und nochmals Cassis...
Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Pfeffriges Bouquet, Cassis und Brombeeren, darunter eine gute Terroirgrundlage zeigend, sehr nobel im Ansatz. Samtiger Gaumen, verloursartige Textur, ein Spiel zwischen blauen und schwarzen Beeren, intensives Finale. Ein tänzerischer Gazin, der zwar nicht billig sein wird, aber doch eine heimliche Affäre garantiert. Trinkreife 2022-2039. Bewertung 18/20. –René Gabriel–

The 2014 Gazin was stubborn and broody when tasted in bottle, but give it a few swirls and there comes forth gravel and black truffle scents alongside sultry black fruit. These aromatics are so engaging and involving, drawing you in towards it charms. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and taut with great precision and sappiness towards the focused, almost symmetrical, black truffle-laced finish. This continues Gazin's fine run of form, a great Pomerol from an estate predisposed these days to create sophisticated, classic wines. Drink Date 2020-2045. Rating 94/100. –Neal Martin–

Vinous:

The 2014 Gazin is laced with pretty red cherry, plum, raspberry and rose petal notes. Soft contours and silky tannins add considerable appeal. I would prefer to drink this juicy, midweight Pomerol over the next handful of years, while the fruit retains its youthful exuberance. In 2014, Gazin is all finesse. Rating 92/100. –Antonio Galloni–

The soy-sauce and savory aromas really make this stand out, but behind it are some very nice fruit and elegant tannins.
