The 2014 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has an elegant, clean and pure, understated bouquet that unfolds like the other grand crus with seductive red berry fruit, here joined by wild hedgerow and cold stone scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, crisp acidity, very pure in the mouth with quite a sensual finish that leaves you wanting another sip. I like the oak integration here - barely noticeable that it is 100%. This is a very sophisticated and intellectual Chapelle-Chambertin that is maybe coveting secrets that will only be revealed as it matures. Drink Date 2018-2035. Rating 94-96/100. -Neal Martin-

Vinous:

Bright, dark red. Medicinal cherry and licorice on the nose, lifted by menthol and violet notes. Sappy, juicy and perfumed; dense and vivacious for this bottling, with terrific acid grip and definition to its dark fruit flavors. Stimulates the salivary glands on the firm, very long finish. A superb vintage for this grand cru at Dugat. Drink Date 2023-2035. Rating 93+/100. -Stephen Tanzer-
