Allen Meadows’ Burghound.com:
The wood treatment is a good deal more subtle though the spice elements are much more in evidence on the similar liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, lavender and Asian-style tea scents. There is outstanding volume to the opulent and lush flavors that are underpinned by surprisingly pliant tannins on the admirably pure and beautifully well-balanced finale. This isn't especially dense though it's by no means dilute and earns its marks by sheer class and the impeccable harmony of expression. As such, while this should amply repay 12 to 15 years of cellaring it should drink well young too. Rating 92-95/100. -Allen Meadows’ Burghound.com-
Robert Parker Wine Advocate:
The 2014 Musigny Grand Cru has a deep, dark color. The nose is very refined with very good mineralité coming through with aeration, slightly floral. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, a little grainy in texture, very harmonious and very classy -- among the best I have tasted. Not quite as sensual as say, Domaine de la Vougeraie, but perhaps even more tensile. This is an outstanding Musigny. Drink Date 2019-2040. Rating 95-97/100. -Neal Martin-
Vinous:
Good bright red-ruby. Mineral-driven aromas of black fruits, licorice and crushed stone. In a warmer, more enveloping, more saline style than the Echézeaux, showing superb concentration but less early complexity and personality. Wonderfully spherical in shape and long and vibrant on the back end, with the very smooth tannins arriving late. Rating 92-94/100. -Stephen Tanzer-
