Allen Meadows’ Burghound.com:

A wonderfully broad-ranging nose features notes of black raspberry, cassis, spice, earth and floral hints. The velvety, intense, powerful and mouth coating large-scaled flavors also brim with a fine minerality on the extract rich and prominently muscular finish that exhibits superb persistence. This impeccably well-balanced effort is youthfully austere at present but should mature into a real beauty Rating 92-95/100. -Allen Meadows’ Burghound.com-

Robert Parker Wine Advocate:

The 2012 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru explodes from the glass with intense blueberry, blackberry and orange zest aromas that display intent and purpose. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit, hints of cassis and almost a bubblegum-like vivacity on the confit finish. This is still so primal, but it has the vigor and the concentration to merit long-term aging. It represents a great success for the domaine. Drink Date 2019-2035. Rating 94/100. -Neal Martin-

Vinous:

Deep bright red. Superripe but rather brooding aromas of black cherry, spices and minerals; much less expressive today than the Clos Vougeot. Then dense and tactile in the mouth, showing superb spicy definition for its sheer size. This seriously rich, deep Corton boasts powerful tannic structure and outstanding palate-saturating length. Drink Date 2022-2035. Rating 93/100. -Stephen Tanzer-
