Allen Meadows’ Burghound.com:
A somber yet elegant nose presents aromas of various dark berries, floral tones and wet stone nuances. This is markedly more mineral-driven than the Chapelle with superb delineation and terrific tension on middle weight plus flavors that deliver outstanding length on the driving and beautifully well-balanced finale. A classic Latricières that is built on its minerality though note well that plenty of patience will be required. Rating 92-95/100. -Allen Meadows' Burghound.com-
Robert Parker Wine Advocate:
Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine J-L Trapet has a broody nose at first, but one that keeps drawing you in with its crystal clear, earthy red berry fruit that opens with aeration. The palate is charming with fleshy red cherry and strawberry fruit, citrus fruit, a hint of dried orange peel and wonderful precision and poise on the finish that lingers long in the mouth, yet it just loses some of its initial chutzpah as it opens in the glass and I end up docking a point. Drink Date 2017-2030. Rating 92/100. -Neal Martin-
Vinous:
Good medium red. Slightly sauvage nose and palate combine black cherry, underbrush and espresso elements, with complicating notes of pepper and truffle. Lush, seamless and filled in, offering lovely balance from the outset. Less floral and fruity than the Chapelle but even denser. Most impressive right now on the building, unflagging finish, which features noble, broad tannins and the structure to support a long and graceful evolution in bottle. Drink Date 2023-2038. Rating 94/100. -Stephen Tanzer-
