Bordeaux Total René Gabriel:
79 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 21 % Merlot. 15 % kleinere Ernte als letztes Jahr. Extrem dunkles Purpur mit lila und violetten Reflexen. Die Farbe ist unglaublich dunkel im Vergleich selbst zu anderen Cru. Lakritze und Rauch, getrocknete Heidelbeeren, Black Currant, Korinthennoten. Cremiger Gaumen, die Säure zeigt sich, durch die enorme Fülle des Körpers, erstaunlich weich, schwarze Pfeffernoten und eine mineralische Anzeige im satten, fleischigen Extrakt, massive Konzentration. Ein Monument das deutlich an den eigenen 1989 in seiner Jugend erinnert. Als ich diese Theorie dem Kellermeister Jean-René Matignon erzählte, war er sichtlich einverstanden. Zwei Mal verkostet. Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Pichon-Longueville Baron delivers expressive scents of baked black cherries, plum preserves and crème de cassis with hints of cedar chest and bouquet garni. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm backbone of grainy tannins and lovely freshness with bags of energetic black fruits and a long, wonderfully pure finish. Drink Date 2020-2055. Vinous:
Good deep ruby-red. Ripe, exotic nose offers scents of dark berries, black cherry, graphite, peat, iron, flowers and chocolatey oak. Very ripe and impressively dense, showing compelling depth to its lush dark berry and graphite flavors. A sexy sugar/acid balance gives this sharply delineated wine very good early balance but its powerfully structured, very long finish suggests that it will be long-lived. Big tannins are wonderfully smooth for the vintage. Drink Date 95+/100. -Stephen Tanzer-

A dense and layered wine with lots of ripe and sweet fruit. Loads of currants, plums and tar. This is concentrated and almost jammy with velvety tannins. Powerful. Chewy. Rating 95/100. – JamesSuckling.com –

Dark, nuanced crimson. Spicy nose with drive and both tannin and freshness – as well as ripe Cabernet fruit in ascendant. Lots going on here. Smooth, sculpted tannins and lots of drama. Drink Date 2022-2048. Rating 18/20. – Jancis Robinson -
